PKR POLLS | The third week of PKR elections saw Rafizi Ramli taking the lead in the deputy presidency race over incumbent Azmin Ali.

Rafizi's lead is a mere 48 votes. However, with 75 percent of eligible voters still yet to have their turn at the ballot box, it is too early to call a winner.

Throughout the weekend, Rafizi had managed to narrow the gap between him and Azmin by securing small margins in Kelantan and Pahang over the past two days, and again in the Federal Territories today.

Rafizi won by a significant margin in Terengganu on Friday.

As for the vice-presidency race, the front runners, in order of number of votes garnered, are Nurul Izzah Anwar, Zuraida Kamaruddin, Tian Chua and Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin.

There are 10 candidates for the vice-president posts but only the top four will be elected.

The PKR elections will continue over the next five weekends until Nov 10. 

Tight races for youth, women's wings

There were also tight races for the youth and women's wings over the weekend.

Akmal Nasir took the lead on Friday after edging out Afif Bahardin in Kelantan and Terengganu.

Although Afif managed to win in Pahang and the Federal Territories over the next two days, Akmal still maintained a slim 36 vote lead, according to Malaysiakini's tally.

As for the Youth deputy chief race, Hilman Idham still maintained a commanding lead over his nearest challenger Raymond Ahuar.

For the Wanita PKR chief contest, Haniza Talha maintained her significant lead over Fuziah Salleh, although separated by only five votes in the Federal Territories election today.

All the results mentioned in this article are unofficial until the PKR election committee makes an official announcement.

The next round of elections will take place this Sunday in Selangor.

Voting for Selangor - which has 31 percent of PKR's total membership - will go on over three weekends.
