PARLIAMENT | A motion to refer Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin to the Dewan Rakyat's rights and privileges committee will be debated today.

The motion, which was carried over from the last parliament session, seeks to censure Bung for insulting the House by using the "F-word" against fellow MPs while debating the Sales Tax Bill on Aug 7.

According to the order paper, the motion against Bung will be debated before Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad tables the 11th Malaysia Plan.

The debate is expected to kick off at 12pm after the ministers’ question time session.

Bung had condemned the motion as unfairly targeting him and that it was an “injustice.”

He said the motion risked “overruling” the decision of deputy speaker Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who had accepted his apology at the time of the incident and his withdrawal of the word.

The Sabah Umno lawmaker also said the motion should apply to all parliamentarians who had used "strong language" during the current sitting.
