Ten police reports lodged over Malacca PKR polls

The police have received 10 reports related to the Malacca PKR election 2018 held on Saturday (Oct 20), said state police chief Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah.

He said from the number of reports received from Oct 20 to 22, four were lodged in the Melaka Tengah district while six more reports were received in the Alor Gajah district.

Raja Shahrom added that the reports were due to dissatisfaction with the e-voting system used in the election as well as delays in the election results.

“There are also reports lodged by those who claimed that they were eligible party members but their names were not on the list to vote.

"Based on the reports received, no criminal element has been identified and we have submitted the reports to the PKR headquarters for further action,” he told reporters after the monthly assembly at the Malacca police headquarters.

On Sunday, two candidates for the position of Tangga Batu branch head, namely, Alias Abd Wahab, 59, and Abdullah Ali, 48, have lodged police reports over the e-voting system used in the PKR election that they claimed was not transparent and that there may be elements of sabotage.
