Police's Anti-money Laundering and Anti-terrorism Financing Prevention Unit (Amla) will record the statements of former premier Najib Abdul Razak's wife Rosmah Mansor and her sons Norashman and Riza Aziz on Friday.

Riza is Rosmah's son from her first marriage and was implicated in the 1MDB scandal.

A source told Malaysiakini that Rosmah was scheduled to have her statement recorded tomorrow but requested for the session to be postponed to 10am on Friday.

“She wanted to be there for her husband since he is slated to be charged tomorrow. We agreed to the postponement,” said the source.

This is the second time that the session has been postponed.

Police were initially slated to record Rosmah's statement on Oct 19 regarding the ownership and purchase of jewellery seized from properties linked to Najib in May in connection with the 1MDB investigation.

However, Rosmah requested that it be postponed to tomorrow.

In June, federal commercial crime investigations department chief Amar Singh revealed that police had seized jewellery items worth RM440 million from Najib-linked residences.

These include 1,400 necklaces, 2,200 rings, 2,100 bangles, 2,800 earrings, 1,600 brooches and 14 tiaras.

Apart from this, the police also seized 567 handbags worth more than RM51.3 million, as well as 423 watches and 234 sunglasses, valued at RM79 million and RM374,000 respectively.

On Oct 4, Rosmah was slapped with a total of 17 charges, comprising 12 counts of money laundering involving RM7,097,750, and five counts for failing to declare her income to the Inland Revenue Board.
