Saudi Arabia Foreign Minister Adel Ahmed Al-Jubeir who is currently in Malaysia for a three-day working visit since yesterday, will meet Malaysian leaders in Putrajaya tomorrow.

Wisma Putra said in a statement today that Adel is scheduled to call on Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the latter's office in Putrajaya prior to concluding his visit.

He is also scheduled to meet Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah at Wisma Putra.

"The meeting will provide an opportunity for both sides to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and exchange views on various international issues of mutual interest,” Wisma Putra said.

The two ministers last met on the sidelines of the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sept 24.

Malaysia and Saudi Arabia continue to enjoy close relations in various key areas, including politics, economy, higher education and haj affairs.

Saudi Arabia is Malaysia’s second largest trading partner in the Middle East.

Total bilateral trade in 2017 increased by 6.8 percent to RM15 billion compared to RM14.04 billion in the preceding year.
