Umno information chief Annuar Musa’s offer to Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to rejoin Umno is probably a “naughty invitation”.

“I think that is maybe a naughty invitation because actually, it is not that logical to me.

“Imagine inviting someone who is already the prime minister and the chairperson of a government party to join the opposition party,” Pakatan Harapan vice-president Mukhriz Mahathir told reporters in Parliament today.

Mahathir had previously led Umno as its president for 22 years during his first premiership tenure, before joining the opposition and establishing Bersatu.

Yesterday, Annuar had invited Mahathir to join Umno again after the nonagenarian offered Umno members the chance to join Bersatu.

“Umno should be the one to counteroffer, which is to invite Mahathir and Bersatu members to join Umno.

“Truly, there are many Umno members including myself who love and respect Mahathir genuinely.

“InsyaAllah, Umno will not die. What is broken we will fix together,” Annuar had said.
