PKR POLLS | PKR deputy presidential candidate Rafizi Ramli is off to a wobbly start in Sabah, a state which could well determine the outcome of the PKR election.

Rafizi’s opponent Mohamed Azmin Ali is leading by 345 votes, based on unofficial results from 11 out of the 12 divisions which went to the polls today.

The unofficial tally shows that Azmin has so far garnered 5,115 votes to Rafizi's 4,770 votes.

Voting in Keningau was extended, and unofficial tallies from that division are as yet unavailable.

It is also the same division where Rafizi said he was attacked earlier today.

Azmin is expected to carry the divisions of Libaran, Sandakan, Kalabakan, Sepanggar, Beaufort and Tawau.

Meanwhile, Rafizi looks set to take the divisions of Kota Kinabalu, Batu Sapi, Tuaran, Sipitang and Kota Marudu.

The estimated results so far are based on unofficial tallies and have not been issued by the PKR election committee.

The PKR election committee is only expected to release the preliminary results later tonight, barring technical issues.

Sabah is critical for the PKR deputy presidential race as it has the second largest number of PKR members in the country, coming in at 18 percent.

In total, Azmin so far has 54,739 votes while Rafizi has 52,684 votes.

This calculation is based on official results from other states and the available unofficial results from the first round of voting in Sabah today.

Tomorrow, 13 more PKR divisions in Sabah are expected to go to the polls.

Once the polls conclude in Sabah, there will only be around nine percent of the votes left nationwide to be collected.

Sarawak will vote next week, as well as Malacca, where polls are being re-held. There will also be a repoll in the divisions of Labuan, Kuala Selangor and Jelebu.
