Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman is expected to be charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court this afternoon with 35 counts of alleged corruption linked to timber concessions in the state.

According to sources close to the government, the 35 charges involve a total of US$63 million purportedly deposited in bank accounts in Singapore and Hong Kong.

It is understood that Musa, the Sungai Sibuga assemblyperson, will be taken to court from the MACC's Putrajaya headquarters.

In a statement later, MACC said that Musa was arrested at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya, at 10.05am today. 

"Following the arrest, Musa will be charged, with consent from the Attorney-General's Chambers. 

"Musa will face several charges under the Anti-Corruption Act 1997. 

"He will be taken to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at 2pm to be charged," the statement said.
