The MACC has arrested former Federal Territories minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in connection with a land deal involving the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Azam Baki confirmed this, saying that the Putrajaya MP was taken into custody at 3.25pm, shortly after he arrived at the anti-graft agency's headquarters in Putrajaya.

In an official statement, the MACC said Tengku Adnan is expected to be charged together with businessperson Tan Eng Boon at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court at 2.30pm tomorrow.

MACC said that it has been given consent to prosecute Tengku Adnan in relation to the sale of a plot of DBKL land.

It was reported that commission summoned the former minister to meet investigators today to facilitate their probe into the land deals.

Media reports had previously stated that he was being investigated over 97 dubious transactions for the sale of over 273.27ha owned by DBKL, worth a total of RM5.63 billion.
