High Court strikes out PD voter's suit against Anwar
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur today struck out Port Dickson voter Noraziah Mohd Shariff's challenge against PKR president Anwar Ibrahim's candidacy in the constituency’s recent by-election.

The judge had fixed today for the hearing of Noraziah's application to challenge Anwar's candidacy based on the allegedly questionable royal pardon granted to the PKR president.
In the last session, Justice Azizah had allowed Noraziah's then counsel M Reza Hassan to discharge himself from representing her.
Reza claimed that the reason to remove himself from representing Noraziah was that he could not get instructions from her.
Anwar's lawyer J Leela told Malaysiakini when contacted that the plaintiff had not been present in court today.
No order made on costs
"The court struck out her originating summons with no order as to costs," Leela said.
Noraziah, 38, filed the suit on Sept 28 to invalidate the pardon granted to Anwar.
Her originating summons sought the court's declaration that the royal pardon does not invalidate Anwar's disqualification from holding public office.
Noraziah also sought declarations that the Pardons Board was not established constitutionally, the royal pardon was not in accordance with Article 42(5) of the Federal Constitution and that Anwar was not allowed to run for public office until the expiry of the five-year ban imposed following his conviction and jailing for Sodomy II.
In her affidavit in support of the application, Noraziah argued that the royal pardon was defective on grounds that the Federal Territories Pardons Board advised the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in an unconstitutional manner.
Anwar won the Oct 13 Port Dickson by-election with a majority of 23,560 votes.
