The carcass of a calf, along with a death threat, was left at a minister’s service centre in Simpang Jeram, Johor last weekend.
Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub said police are looking into the matter.
“Attached (to the calf) was a note threatening me. A police report has been made.
“At first, I took the matter lightly, but looks like the police are taking it seriously as it involves a threat against a minister,” the Amanah lawmaker was quoted telling Malaysia Dateline.
Meanwhile, a source close to the minister told Malaysiakini that the incident happened on Dec 2, and that the police have already arrested a suspect.
However, the calf’s cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
“We do not know if the calf was mowed down by a vehicle or killed, because the veterinarian’s forensic report is not yet out,” said the source.
Malaysiakini is attempting to get further details on the case from the police.
