Lawmakers should declare all their assets even if they have nothing, Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin said today.

"Even if you have nothing to declare, just do it even if it's zero.

"It's easy. If you have no assets, write that you have none," Muhyiddin told a press conference at the Bersatu headquarters in Petaling Jaya today.

His remarks came a day after two ministers stated they had not declared their assets because they had none.

Tourism Minister Mohamaddin Ketapi said yesterday that he is “poor” and did not own a car or a house.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department P Waythamoorthy, meanwhile, claimed that all his earnings had been spent in his fight for the Indian community over the years.

Waythamoorthy has since clarified that he had declared two cars to the MACC, but the graftbuster did not consider these as assets.
