Bersatu members should not worry about former Umno members joining their party, former Puteri Umno chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said today.
As Mas Ermieyati explained, those who crossed over into Bersatu are not after positions and power.

As Mas Ermieyati explained, those who crossed over into Bersatu are not after positions and power.
"I hope they do not get the wrong perception on new members (from Umno), because there are many like me, who (crossed to Bersatu) not because of position or power.
"What is far more important is that the voice of the Malays can be heard.
"And for me personally, I can also serve my parliamentary constituency better (by being in Bersatu)," she said.
Mas Ermieyati spoke to the media last night after the launching of Bersatu annual general meeting in Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
The Masjid Tanah MP, who was officially accepted into the party on Dec 21, was commenting on Bersatu chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad's announcement that ex-Umno members are not allowed to hold any position in Bersatu until after the 15th general election.
The sentiment was echoed by Bagan Serai MP Noor Azmi Ghazali who said that it would be a test of sincerity for former Umno members like him.
Saying that he too did not cross over with the intention of holding any positions, Noor Azmi added that the party might be able to consider exceptions for former Umno members who are talented and "clean."
"It depends, for example, if there are former Umno members who have been investigated and found to be clean (from corruption), and these people have experience and are seniors.
"If they are in Bersatu and can contribute to the Malays, then why not? If it is agreed by the party leadership."
Mas Ermieyati and Noor Azmi are among the three MPs who joined Bersatu after quitting Umno, along with Jeli MP Mustapha Mohamed.
All three were in attendance at the Bersatu AGM policy speech session last night.
