Abdul Yazid Kassim appointed CEO of MRT Corp
Abdul Yazid Kassim has been appointed the new CEO of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp), effective Feb 1, 2019, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng announced today.
He will replace Shahril Mokhtar, who stepped down at the end of last year with the conclusion of his contract.
Yazid, who has extensive experience in project management, contract construction and engineering, will be responsible, among others, to manage and implement the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Mass Rapid Transit (MRT2) project within the stipulated timeframe and cost.
"I am confident his appointment as the new CEO will enhance the performance and efficiency of MRT Corp," said Lim, adding that Yazid was formerly the project director of Malakoff Corporation Bhd and head of project management at Zelan Bhd.
The finance minister also said Yazid has vast experience in the field of project management, as well as, construction and engineering contracts, with about 10 years of overseas working experience as construction chief at Qatar Petroleum.
Yazid received a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Manchester and a master's degree in engineering from the University of Warwick.

It has certainly not escaped the notice of the average non-Malay Joe that the best and plump jobs in GLCs are still falling into the laps of fat Bumi cats at least two of whom were the sons of infamous past UMNO war lords! Yet all the best legal brains who are currently working pro bono to help the serially racist PM and the cowed cabinet he leads to sort out the IMDB rot are non-Malays, mainly Indians. The dissonance is deafening not to mention the unconscionability of a coalition that promised hope to the repressed minorities! As they say once bitten twice shy except that GE15 is a long wait yet!
Maybe all the non Malays in this country have become bunians and turned invisible..And this is LGE of the DAP making the annoucement. Dejavu ..like MCA only. DAP better get out of PH fast before reputation permanently damaged and end up loner in parliment like Wee Wee....
