INQUEST | A Fire and Rescue Department personnel claimed that he heard a someone in the crowd warning them not to put out a burning car, yelling “Jangan padam, pukul bomba (don't put it out, whack them).”
Relating what transpired on the night of Nov 27 outside the Seafield Seri Mahariamman temple, Mohd Sharol Anuar Kamarudin, 27, said he was stunned to face the hostile crowd when he arrived at the site at 1.12am.
He also claimed that three people rushed towards him armed with a metal pole and what appeared to be a “samurai sword”.
"I was stunned... I overheard a threatening voice. I also heard the voice saying, 'Jangan padam!' 'Pukul bomba!'
"So I climbed back into the FRT (fire truck)," he added.
Sharol Anuar is the seventh witness in the inquest to determine firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim's cause of death.
Sharol said the EMRS started turning the moment he re-entered the fire truck and moved towards his seat at the back near its left window.

He said he heard loud banging noises on the fire engine's body and moved away to crouch in a space closer to the front seats.
"I was looking in front and I turned around to ask my colleague to record the situation [...] but he did not manage to do so," he added.
To further questions from a lawyer for Adib's family, Yahya Othman, Sharol said the whole situation left him fearing for his life.
At the end of today's proceedings, lawyer Shazlin Othman requested Sharol to imitate the shouts of "pukul bomba" for the court.
The inquest proceedings before Coroner Rafiah Mohamad continues its fifth day tomorrow with two civilian witnesses expected to take the stand.
