Penangites see hope, but view 'new Malaysia' with critical eye

Pakatan Harapan's dramatic rise to power on May 9 last year signalled a new beginning for all Malaysians who had been under what seemed like a never-ending rule by BN.

But the historical victory of the people's power also raised the bar higher for the incoming politicians and with a load of promises came disappointments too as Harapan leaders backtracked on some pledges.
