Be careful of Malaysiakini's headlines, cautions PAS veep

In his winding-up speech at the 65th PAS muktamar, Amar took a swipe at several media outlets – including Malaysiakini – for a purported agenda against the party through "negative" headlines.
"No matter how good these media outlets may seem to be with us, they will always give us a negative impression, particularly Malaysiakini.
"I will just say it outright, because Malaysiakini headlines often give a negative impression of our leaders' statements," he claimed.
"Although sometimes the content is good, but the title (is not). And some of us only like to read headlines without reading the content," he said, adding that this failure to read has resulted in unfair criticisms being made against PAS and its leaders.
"That is why I stress the need to be careful. If in the past it was Berita Harian and Utusan Malaysia, nowadays we can add another one, Malaysiakini."
Though citing no examples, Amar claimed to have personally been the subject of such negative headlines.
Amar, the deputy menteri besar of Kelantan, was embroiled in a controversy last year over the purchase of a Mercedes-Benz E250 for the state administration's top officials.
