Several areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang are expected to experience a disruption of water supply and low pressure from 9pm tonight.

This is after the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant was forced to shut down temporarily.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), in a statement explained that odour pollution had been detected at Sungai Semenyih, which provides the raw water source for the treatment plant.

The affected areas are Bandar Puteri, Hospital Serdang, Serdang, Seri Kembangan, Puchong, Technology Park Malaysia, Taman Wawasan, USJ and UPM.

"We are working to overcome this problem and value the cooperation of our consumers," Syabas said.
