A "Datuk Seri" linked to a riot in a Kuala Lumpur nightclub is in police crosshairs once again, now being probed for criminal intimidation.
Police are investigating the 31-year-old in connection with a property transaction involving his company.
According to Serdang police chief Ismadi Borhan, a finance manager in his 30s lodged a report out of fear for his safety after allegedly being threatened by the suspect.
"Last Friday, about 3pm, when the victim was at a fast-food restaurant in Puchong, he received a call from the company's CEO saying that the suspect wants to meet him over a land transaction deal.
"The victim, out of fear for his safety, lodged a report with the police," he said.
Ismadi did not reveal further details on the investigation, but said statements are being recorded from various individuals, including the suspect.
On May 18, the "Datuk Seri" surrendered himself to the police to facilitate investigations into a case into a riot at a nightclub along Jalan Klang Lama, which resulted in damage to over RM200,000 worth of property.
Following the incident, police hauled up 14 individuals, aged between 26 and 27.
The same "Datuk Seri" was also involved in a high-profile assault case in front of a temple two years ago.
