There should be no double standards over Perak MB, says DAP sec-gen
There should not be any double standards in handling internal matters within Pakatan Harapan, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said, referring to Bersatu's Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu's remarks about DAP and cabinet ministers.
He was responding to a question from a reporter on whether he thinks Faizal should be referred to Bersatu's disciplinary committee, just as Ronnie Liu was referred to DAP's disciplinary committee for suggesting a government be formed without Bersatu.

There should not be any double standards in handling internal matters within Pakatan Harapan, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng (above) said, referring to Bersatu's Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu's remarks about DAP and cabinet ministers.
He was responding to a question from a reporter on whether he thinks Faizal should be referred to Bersatu's disciplinary committee, just as Ronnie Liu was referred to DAP's disciplinary committee for suggesting a government be formed without Bersatu.
"The issues mentioned will be addressed to make sure there are no double standards.
"I think that will be addressed after the Tanjung Piai by-election, it will be clarified after the by-election.
"This is to ensure the Pakatan Harapan principle that there are no double standards.
"After all, we say there must be fair treatment for our own, if not how to ensure fair treatment for everybody," Lim said in a press conference at the Selangor DAP convention held in Petaling Jaya today.
However, he also stressed that all Harapan leaders want to see stability and solidarity in Harapan-led states.
As such, Faizal, as the menteri besar, should ensure the stability and strength of the Harapan government in Perak is not affected, especially as they have a small majority in the state, Lim said.
"DAP supports the Harapan government in Perak, and we must also realise the fact that we have a very small majority.
"I think I speak not for myself, but all Harapan leaders that we want to see stability and solidarity of Harapan states, and any statements that run counter to that effort is not positive.
"I think efforts must be made by the menteri besar, especially to ensure the stability and the strength of the Harapan government are not affected.
"We hope that this message gets through, that I think efforts must be made," Lim said.

A video clip was widely shared on social media depicting Faizal's conversation with Tanjung Piai voters while on the stump for Harapan's Tanjung Piai by-election candidate Karmaine Sardini.
Faizal told the locals that he was in a "desperate battle alone against puak-puak (factions) DAP" and that he wanted to "defend the land of the Malays, I want to champion our religion".
He added he was grateful that "Umno friends" in Perak were not behaving belligerently, and that he had sat among "Umno friends" during the nomination process for the Tanjung Piai by-election because he was "fed up" with cabinet ministers.
He has since reportedly clarified that the video had been taken out of context.
