Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the public should wait for the next general election to evaluate Pakatan Harapan's performance.
Commenting on a survey by Emir Research, which claimed that respondents were mostly not confident with his coalition, Mahathir said the many promises made needed a full term to be fulfilled.
"If they are not confident (in our administration), they can vote during the next election and decide on Harapan's fate," he told reporters in Kuala Lumpur, today.
"A lot of promises we made requires five years to fulfil."
On the survey conclusion that many Malaysians have concerns over cost-of-living issues, Mahathir said a key factor was the devaluation of the ringgit and having too many middlemen.
"Some items are now cheaper. People don't talk about that. They only focus on items that are more expensive," he said.
Meanwhile, Mahathir said the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) will be reviewed and stressed that it was a complicated topic.
"We don't want to allow terrorists to roam free. For example, if we find a bombmaker, we can't fix a duration for detention," he said.
"Conversely, if someone is accused of sabotaging the economy, we will be able to identify a detention period. We want to reduce the current 28-day detention period. We will review this."
Harapan had promised to abolish Sosma during the parliamentary elections last year.
There have been renewed calls for Harapan to fulfil this promise after the law was applied on 12 people accused of supporting the defunct Liberation Tigers of Tamil Elam.
