BN Youth to start 'Harmony Dialogue' on sensitive issues
BN Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki today announced that BN Youth would embark on a discourse platform to discuss sensitive issues which concern all ethnics.

Asyraf said they should discuss sensitive racial issues openly and honestly, instead of sweeping such matters under the carpet.
He said this at the 55th MCA Youth annual general assembly following the call from MCA Youth wing chief Nicole Wong for a roundtable platform where BN Youth can engage in the discussions.
"As BN Youth chief, I say this will be our common agenda, I promise to travel to each state and constituency with Nicole and other leaders to hold what we call as 'Harmony Dialogue'," said Asyraf.
He, however, said all ethnic groups should also understand the sensitivities of others, where others cannot touch religious issues where Malays are concerned while Chinese takes education issues to their hearts.
He also cautioned the wings not to be easily slighted when discussions start.
"Be ready to talk openly, don't be easily slighted. (Don't) talk about UEC then get angry, talk about Malay rights, then get offended," he said.
In her speech earlier, Wong called for a roundtable platform for discourse as BN lacked an integration mechanism with its parties representing their own races.
She said this was among the reasons why BN was defeated in the last general election.
Asyraf noted this would be a new political culture if BN can work out such a discourse mechanism.
He also said BN Youth needed to change in order to make a comeback.
He urged the country to return to its original mould as enshrined in the "social contract" so that the Chinese would not be taken for a ride of false hope by the DAP.
He said the DAP made the Chinese to believe in what was not originally stated in the Federal Constitution, particular on the rights of the bumiputera and equality.
He said the MCA, however, was unlike the DAP which gave people false hope.
"MCA is unlike DAP which will promise the moon and the stars which will destroy the principle root of the Federal Constitution particularly that there are no bumiputera rights and there should be equality. These are false hopes," he said.
He stressed that the country belonged to all races and no Malaysian should be called a migrant.
He said Umno will not abandon MCA as feared by some in the Chinese-based party after Umno and PAS joined hands to formed Muafakat Nasional on Sept 16.
