(AFP) Security has been tightened further at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport after the US-led strikes in Afghanistan, a spokesman said today.

"We now carry out 100 percent checkings on our passengers and passengers can bring no more than two bags on board planes," the security spokesman at KLIA told AFP .

Security had already been beefed up after the September 11 terror attacks in the United States but the airport had taken extra measures to protect passengers since the military strikes on Afghanistan.

"We are not taking any chances, we are tightening our security," the spokesman said.
