The government has denied allegations that a teacher forced a group of 13-year-olds to watch porn as a punishment, saying the film was an educational rape prevention video, a report said today.

Education authorities had said they were investigating the alleged incident at a government-run school in Johor, after complaints that children were made to watch the film after failing to do their homework.

Officials told the New Straits Times today that the movie was not pornographic, but that students had misinterpreted the material and complained to their parents.

"It was actually a video on how to avoid getting raped," Deputy Education Minister Noh Omar said, adding that some of the children were frightened by the content of the film and left before it ended.
