A group of some 300 protesters gathered at Dataran Merdeka today to urge the cabinet to resign within 100 days or dissolve Parliament.

This was one of 10 demands by the protesters, who claim to be apolitical.

"Our gathering today doesn't involve leaders or political parties," NGO Sedar Rakyat deputy chairperson Chandra Bose told Malaysiakini.

The group's demands state that once the cabinet resigns, its replacement should be free from moral, corruption or criminal scandals.

Other demands made by the group were for reforms to the MACC, Election Commission and the Attorney-General's Chambers starting with the resignation of each respective bodies' chief for "constantly courting negative perception."

They also want a resolution to racial and religious polemics, the rising cost of living as well as improved people's welfare, a realistic action plan for youths, equal distribution of parliamentary allocations, the fulfilment of Pakatan Harapan's 14th general election manifesto and improved foreign relations.

Spokesperson Nazrin Norani told the press that the people were tired of seeing the same personalities like Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya and want fresh blood.

"When I was in Form 4, Mahathir and Anwar were fighting. Now my child is in Form 4 and these two are still there," he said.

He added that he did not care whether the country was led by Harapan or the current opposition.

Participants of the protest, which began in the afternoon, dispersed peacefully at 5pm.
