Decision to relax more rules will be made after May 18, says Health DG
CORONAVIRUS | The Health Ministry will review the outcome of the conditional movement control order (MCO) before advising the government to allow more economic sectors to resume operation.
Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this in response to hairdressers who have asked the authorities to let them open their shutters.

Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said this in response to hairdressers who have asked the authorities to let them open their shutters.
"When we open the economic sector, we do it in stages. And now we are monitoring.
"If we can control the situation, then we will make the decision from time to time," he told reporters in Putrajaya today.
According to Noor Hisham, the ministry can only see the outcome of the conditional MCO earliest by May 18, which is 14 days since it was implemented.
Among the rules that have been relaxed include permission for the public to travel in a group of four in a car.
Most economic sectors have also been allowed to reopen except those that require close contact like massage parlours and barbers.
Noor Hisham said the low number of Covid-19 cases of late was due to the actions taken during the third and fourth phases of the MCO.
"We have seen the outcome of the MCO. (But) the conditional MCO outcome will be seen on May 18.
"If the number of cases after May 18 is still within our control, it means we can open more (economic sectors). But, if cases continue to increase, then we will have to reverse our action," he added.
