Poser over formerly blacklisted developer's RM1 mln donation to Zuraida-linked NGO

Questions have been raised in regards to a RM1 million donation made by a developer - that was blacklisted up to last week - to an NGO that Housing and Local Government Zuraida Kamaruddin is the patron of.
Zuraida had posted about the donation from the developer to NGO Penggerak Komunity Negara (PKN) on her Instagram account on Tuesday.
However, the post - which shows Zuraida receiving a mock cheque - has since been deleted.
Neither Zuraida nor the developer, whose name Malaysiakini is withholding, have responded to requests for comment as of writing.
In the now-deleted Instagram post, Zuraida said the donation was made on May 9 to PKN for welfare and a post-movement control order recovery aid.
Checks on the Housing and Local Government Ministry's website on Tuesday showed that as of May 8, the developer was still blacklisted for failing to pay compounds.
However, a check today turned up an updated document "as of May 15", where the company is no longer on the blacklist.
Johor Bahru MP Akmal Nasir said in a statement that this raised issues regarding conflict of interest.
This is as PKN is a political outfit which campaigns for former PKR leaders who are now with Perikatan Nasional, he said.
"If the picture is true, Zuraida's position as housing and local government minister raises a conflict of interest question when the NGO, which does political work for her and her allies, receives RM 1 million from a developer," he said.
He said Zuraida must come out with an explanation.
Akmal, who is PKR Youth chief, also urged the MACC to investigate the matter.
