Kedah exco: 4 new faces, MB takes 7 portfolios including finance
Ten Kedah state executive members were sworn-in today at Wisma Darul Aman, Alor Setar with new Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor bagging the lion's share of portfolios.
The newly minted Kedah exco council which comprises of PAS (4), Bersatu (3), independents (2) and Umno (1) assemblypersons, sees four new faces joining Sanusi's team.

The newly minted Kedah exco council which comprises of PAS (4), Bersatu (3), independents (2) and Umno (1) assemblypersons, sees four new faces joining Sanusi's team.
Sanusi (above), who is PAS Jeneri assemblyperson, has seven portfolios under his belt chairing committees related to economic planning, land affairs, land revenue, natural resources, Kedah action council, government-linked companies and finance.
As reported in Malaysiakini yesterday, the two former PKR assemblypersons in Kedah who pledged political allegiance to Perikatan Nasional have been appointed state executive councillors as well.
Lunas assemblyperson Azman Nasrudin, who also held a state exco post under Pakatan Harapan after the 2018 national polls, now oversees the state agriculture and agro-based industries, transport, human development and Indian community affairs portfolio.
Meanwhile, Sidam assemblyperson Robert Ling has been given the housing, environment, unity, Chinese and Siamese community affairs portfolio.
The duo had resigned from PKR last week and declared themselves as independents, citing an alleged loss of confidence in the party's leadership.
They joined four other Bersatu assemblypersons who switched sides to Muhyiddin, leading to the downfall of Mukhriz Mahathir, the immediate past menteri besar of Kedah.

ii. Domestic trade
iii. Consumers affairs
Mohd Firdaus Ahmad (Bersatu)
i. Tourism, arts and culture
ii. Youth and sports.
iii. Entrepreneurship and corporate development.
Azman, Halimaton and Firdaus had held state exco posts under Mukhriz for two years before the embattled MB quit his post on Sunday.
At a press conference after the swearing-in ceremony, Sanusi expressed hope that his excos will be able to carry out the duties entrusted to them in a proper manner for the wellbeing of all in the state.
"The experience and expertise of those chosen to be excos will help propel Kedah forward from today onwards and into the future.
"I hope we will be able to do our jobs and duties quickly and effectively as we combine all our expertise and experience so that we can have a strong team to lead Kedah well, God willing," he said.
Sanusi pointed out that most excos were maintained in their former portfolios so that there would be continuity which would be an advantage for the Perikatan Nasional government.
"Our exco line up also proves we are giving women more opportunities as we have increased the number of women excos from two to three," he added.
