FT minister: Gov't is stable, no need for elections
Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa has said that the country does not need to hold snap elections because the federal government is stable.

The BN secretary-general said Umno was firmly behind Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister.
"We have stated our support for (Muhyiddin) to be the prime minister of our loose coalition known as Perikatan Nasional," he said.
Annuar said this when asked to comment on Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan's suggestion that Muhyiddin dissolve Parliament and call for snap polls.
Mohamad (below) had argued that this was necessary as the government was not stable and will have trouble passing bills in Parliament.
He was one of several Umno top guns who had proposed snap elections, suggesting that Umno's support for Muhyiddin was not unanimous.
Annuar, who is also an Umno supreme council member, opined that Mohamad's proposal was a personal opinion and the party has not officially made a stand on snap elections.
"We did discuss (snap elections) when Dr Mahathir Mohamad was the interim prime minister (in late February).
"At the time, we believed that Parliament needed to be dissolved to elect a new government," he added.
The government's primary focus now is to resolve problems, Annuar said, adding that the public was tired of politics.
