PKR duo supports DAP and Amanah's call to shun Hamzah
Two PKR lawmakers have publicly voiced support for DAP and Amanah's joint position in rejecting any forms of cooperation with Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin.
The duo is Sungai Buloh MP R Sivarasa and Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah, who both showed their agreement with DAP and Amanah through their respective Twitter accounts.
Two PKR lawmakers have publicly voiced support for DAP and Amanah's joint position in rejecting any forms of cooperation with Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin.
The duo is Sungai Buloh MP R Sivarasa (above, left) and Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah (above, right), who showed their agreement with DAP and Amanah through their respective Twitter accounts.
This morning, Sivarasa retweeted a news report on DAP and Amanah's joint statement before following up with another tweet that read: "I agree with my DAP and Amanah Pakatan Harapan colleagues on this."
Soon after, Maria did the same. When a Twitter user replied to her and suggested that "dealing with (former premier) Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Hamzah is the same", Maria argued otherwise.
"Hamzah and others planned a coup. Are you normalising it? Never heard throughout the whole world that coups are okay," she wrote.
When contacted, Maria declined to elaborate on her views while Sivarasa has yet to respond to Malaysiakini's request for comments.
Sivarasa and Maria's public comments came as a surprise as the party had imposed a gag order on their members from issuing statements that could potentially sour ties within Harapan.
In recent weeks, DAP and Amanah's top brass have been issuing joint statements targetting PKR, accusing the latter of dragging its feet on the coalition's candidate for prime minister.
Maria does not hold any positions in the party while Sivarasa is a PKR central leadership council (MPP) member.
In late 2018, Sivarasa polled fifth in the MPP race and was, at the time, aligned to former party deputy president Azmin Ali, who left PKR in February.

Azmin and Hamzah (above) have been widely credited as the architects of the "Sheraton Move" in late February which caused the collapsed of the Harapan government, allowing the Perikatan Nasional government to be formed.
Yesterday, DAP and Amanah issued a joint statement to express their disagreement with any attempts to engage the home minister because he was now allied with Harapan's opponents which they fought during the last general election.
It has been established that PKR president Anwar Ibrahim had met Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah - both considered enemies by DAP and Amanah - although details have not been made known.
Speaking to journalists yesterday, Anwar acknowledged that such a meeting took place but stressed that he had reported the matter to the Harapan presidential council before and that he does not hold secret meetings to conspire against his allies.
In a joint statement earlier today, DAP and Amanah said they declined to work with Hamzah as he was the chief conspirator of the Sheraton coup.
While not going into details, they appeared to be referring to a meeting Anwar had with Hamzah which the former claimed was to discuss current affairs and Home Ministry matters.
