PKR president Anwar Ibrahim today said suggestions that he had been plotting with "traitors" are untrue.
"I would like to refer to allegations by certain groups that I had supposedly made plans with a number of treacherous characters.

"I would like to stress this is clearly a ploy by those hungry for power. Slander will be used as an excuse by those who wish to gain a foothold," he said in a statement.
Anwar (above) reiterated his previous statement that he does not conspire in the back like certain quarters, without naming them.
He stressed that he did not make any plans with Perikatan Nasional leaders when he met them recently.
"It had never been discussed with PKR and at the Pakatan Harapan level nor were they raised during my meeting with Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and Home Minister Hamzah Zainuddin.
"I strongly deny the allegations," he said.
Yesterday, Amanah and DAP in a joint statement said they will reject any deals with Hamzah, who was among the figures that helped engineer the collapse of the Harapan government.
"There should be no deal or attempt to form any deal with Hamzah, the chief conspirator of the Sheraton (Move) coup.
"Any formula that includes Hamzah but excludes Warisan and (former prime minister) Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s faction is not acceptable and not based on principles,” Amanah and DAP had said.
They were later supported by two PKR lawmakers - Sungai Buloh MP R Sivarasa (below, left) and Petaling Jaya MP Maria Chin Abdullah.
The Harapan government, which came into power in the 2018 general election, collapsed in late February after Bersatu president Muhyiddin pulled his party out of the coalition.
Muhyiddin was sworn in as the new prime minister on March 1 after Mahathir refused to lead a new coalition the former put together comprising Bersatu, PKR defectors, BN, PAS, GPS, PBS and STAR.
Mahathir had been planning a counter-coup against Muhyiddin, who has a three-seat majority in the Dewan Rakyat.
However, the counter-coup efforts are being hampered by an impasse between Mahathir and Anwar over who should become the prime minister if Harapan regains power.
