Ex-Umno leader kicks up a fuss over PN seating arrangement at meet

Former Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam said his former party was gravely insulted during a meeting of top Perikatan Nasional leaders yesterday.
Lokman pointed out that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was not assigned a seat next to Bersatu president and Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin despite Umno being the largest party in the PN government in terms of seats.
"To some people, this issue is trivial. To those who have been scrutinising the PN government, they will know that Umno has been marginalised since (the beginning).
"I see this photograph through the lens of a politician. If Umno is given such a seat and is not respected by Muhyiddin, what will happen during (seat) negotiations for the elections?
"Is this what Umno, a party that won 54 seats, is worth? Moreover, they were the subject of the worst slander and the slanderer won only 13 seats when their opponents were at their weakest," wrote Lokman (below) on his Facebook page today.
Currently, Umno has 39 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, making it the largest bloc on the government bench while Muhyiddin's party Bersatu comes in second with 31 seats.
However, 16 of Bersatu's MPs won their seats on an Umno ticket and defected between 2018 and 2019.
Lokman was referring to photographs of a meeting between PN leaders yesterday during which they reaffirmed their support for Muhyiddin.
Although Zahid was photographed sitting two seats away from Muhyiddin during the meeting - with Gabungan Parti Sarawak leader Abang Johari Abang Openg sitting in between them - the two eventually posed together for a group photograph.
Lokman was sacked from Umno in February but remains a staunch supporter of its former president Najib Abdul Razak.
He currently heads a political activism group known as "Laskar Siber Malaysia".
