A former chief minister of Sabah and MP for Kota Belud, Salleh Said Keruak is the first elected representative in the state to set up his own website to disseminate information on current issues and developments.

According to Bernama, he said the main objective was to encourage the people to read to improve their knowledge.

The portal at www.keruak.com contains information on the history of Sabah, its culture and places of interest as well as sections for e-books, news archive, a gallery on Salleh's family tree and forum for surfers to give their comments and views.

With its tagline, "Offering Information and Knowledge: The World at Your Fingertips", Salleh promised to add thousands more titles to the book collection in his portal.

Salleh, who was Sabah chief minister from 1994 to 1996, told Bernama that he hoped the website would be a hub for those looking for information, adding that he also had plans to help set up computer clubs in schools, especially in the rural areas.
