1. Padungan assemblyperson Wong King Wei (above) quit the DAP, expressing disillusionment with the party's direction and confrontational methods.

2. PKR president Anwar Ibrahim said he had always believed that former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad would hand over the premiership to him but it has now been revealed that Mahathir had something else in mind.

3. However, Anwar said Pakatan Harapan will negotiate with Mahathir's team for the Slim by-election to avoid splitting the opposition's vote.

4. DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng completed his third round of questioning with the MACC, after eight hours.

5. On a separate matter, Lim urged the Perikatan Nasional government to explain whether Malaysians were being shortchanged in the settlement deal with Goldman Sachs, which was accused of being an enabler to the multi-billion ringgit theft of 1MDB's funds.

6. The government warned that a full movement control order (MCO) may be reimposed if the number of daily coronavirus cases climbs back to three digits.

7. It also announced that those under home quarantine who refuse to get retested by the end of their quarantine period will now be arrested by police.

8. Former foreign minister Anifah Aman has taken over Parti Cinta Malaysia and was elected as president, 15 days after joining the party.

9. PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said his party took a "fiery" position on Act 355 in the past as it was in the opposition, but the same approach cannot remain now, as PAS is in the government.
