CORONAVIRUS | The government will be making improvements to the MySejahtera contact tracing app to be more user-friendly for the disabled community, especially the visually impaired.
Deputy Health Minister Noor Azmi Ghazali said the move was necessary due to the fact that the government has made use of the app mandatory at all business premises.
The directive requiring the use of the mobile application commission by the federal government is to facilitate Covid-19 contact-tracing by health authorities.
“The use of the app is still being improved from time to time and (improvements) are being developed by the government for better use by disabled persons, especially the visually impaired,” he said to Malaysiakini.
The app is being used to allow patrons to register prior to entering a business premise, including eateries and stores.
However, exceptions are given to premises in rural areas where the internet connection is unstable.
At present, not all premises use the MySejahtera app with some businesses using their own means to collect data on customers, such as the filling of digital or physical forms.
It was announced in June that the SELangkah contact tracing app, developed by Selangor is being integrated with MySejahtera.
The use of the app would aid authorities in tracing contacts in the event of a positive Covid-19 case being detected and updates users on the latest developments in SOPs.
