Lunas assemblyman Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has defeated incumbent Mustaffa Kamil Ayub in Keadilan's hotly contested deputy Youth chief post tonight.

Saifuddin, who bagged 216 votes, won by a majority of 78 votes. There was one spoilt vote among the total of 365 votes cast.

There was no contest for Youth chief as Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor was returned unopposed to his post.

Ezam is presently serving a two-year detention at the Kamunting Detention Centre in Perak under the Internal Security Act for allegedly planning to topple the government through militant means.

Elected to fill the three Youth vice-chief posts were Low Chee Chong, Shamsul Iskandar Akin and Muhammad Zahid Arip.

Meanwhile, in a separate election held tonight, Fuziah Salleh has retained her post as Wanita chief. Her deputy, Irene Fernandez, was also re-elected.
