BUSINESSES

- Celcom Bluecube, Sandakan

Celcom Axiata Berhad, in a statement today, confirmed one of its employees at its Bluecube outlet in Sandakan, Sabah tested positive for Covid-19.

The branch has been closed and contact-tracing is underway.

It said all employees who have been in close contact with the patient will undergo home quarantine, together with their family members.

It also announced that all non-essential service employees within critical Covid-19 zones will work from home.

- Old Town White Coffee, 1Utama, Petaling Jaya

The management of the Old Town White Coffee branch in 1Utama Shopping Mall, Petaling Jaya confirmed one of its staff tested positive for Covid-19 today.

The staff last reported for work on Oct 11.

The branch is now closed until further notice for deep cleaning.

All staff at the branch have also been put on a home quarantine order.

- Alliance Bank, Tawau

Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, in a statement, confirmed that two of its employees at its Tawau branch have tested positive for Covid-19.

They were discovered after all staff members were made to undergo a Covid-19 test.

This was after its security guard tested positive for Covid-19 and the bank closed on Oct 16 to have its staff screened.

The branch had since been sanitised but will remain closed until further notice.

- Plaza Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur

The driver to a tenant here was reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, according to Sin Chew Daily.

Citing a notice by the management corporation, it said the driver was confirmed to be positive on Oct 13. He last visited Plaza Mont Kiara on Oct 8.

The tenant tested negative for Covid-19 but is undergoing mandatory self-quarantine as a precaution.

- Rotiboy headquarters, Rawang

Bakery RotiBoy Malaysia announced that it is temporarily closing down all of its outlets nationwide today after its headquarters in Rawang was hit by a Covid-19 case.

In a statement, the bakery said one of its employee at the Rawang headquarters tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 17.

It said the staff member had not reported for work since Oct 9.

The company said its headquarters have been shut for deep cleaning but it wanted to close all outlets as well as a precaution.

- Maybank, Tanjung Karang

An employee here was tested positive for Covid-19 today, according to Sin Chew Daily.

The employee contracted the virus from a family member who tested positive for the virus on Oct 17.

The branch is temporarily closed effective tomorrow for deep cleaning and contact-tracing is underway.


MEDICAL FACILITIES

- Sunway Medical Velocity, Cheras

The medical centre, in a statement yesterday, said it detected two Covid-19 patients through compulsory pre-surgery screening.

The cases involved a patient and his companion. They were confirmed to be positive with Covid-19 on Oct 16 and transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital on the same day for treatment.

"During his pre-surgery admission in Sunway Medical Centre Velocity, the patient was warded in a single-bedded room and did not leave the room.

"Our rigorous infection control measures ensured that all precautionary efforts were taken and all attending staff were adorned with personal protective equipment," it said.

EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

- Melaka Manipal Medical College (Muar campus)

The college, in a statement, confirmed a student at its Muar campus tested positive for Covid-19.

It said all close contacts of the student have been ordered to undergo a 14-day quarantine.

All classes will go online for a week and all on-campus residents will not be allowed free movement.

All students and staff are also asked to remain in Muar and not travel out of the district during this time.

- SMK Labuan

The Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari urged teachers involved in evening lessons at Block K of the school from Oct 1 to Oct 16 to get tested for Covid-19.

This is after a student was confirmed to be positive with Covid-19.


RESIDENCES

- Prima Midah Heights, Cheras

A resident at Block A tested positive for Covid-19, reported China Press based on the notice by the management corporation on Oct 16.

The notice said a cleaning company has undertaken sanitisation exercise on all possible contaminated areas in Block A and common areas.

- Taman Ehsan Jaya, Klang

A resident here was confirmed to be Covid-19 positive and sent to the hospital this morning, according to Sin Chew Daily.

It cited a notice by the Taman Ehsan Jaya resident association which also thanked residents for agreeing to share the information and urged them to take precautions.
