A source cited the conditional movement control order (MCO) currently in effect in the Klang Valley as the reason for the cancellation.

"Yes, the supreme council meeting tomorrow has been cancelled due to the conditional MCO," the source told Malaysiakini today.
The meeting was supposed to be an online conference on Oct 17 but was changed to an in-person meeting slated to be held at an undisclosed location in Pahang tomorrow because many council members wanted to meet in person.
According to Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan last week, Pahang was chosen as the location of the meeting because Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor were under the conditional MCO.
He told Malaysiakini at the time that supreme council members based in the Klang Valley would seek authorities' permission to travel to the meeting.
Among the restrictions of the conditional MCO is a ban on crossing the state border, except for industries and emergencies.
For the record, the conditional MCO for the three states and territories was announced on Oct 12 and took effect from Oct 14 until Oct 27.
This supreme council meeting is highly anticipated because it is expected to deliberate on the political bureau's decision to review the party's support for Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Additionally, the council is meeting at a time when questions have been raised on whether Muhyiddin Yassin still has enough support from MPs to stay on as prime minister.
Party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi chairs the Umno political bureau. The bureau is a subset of the supreme council, which mostly consists of elected members and is the party's executive body.
While the political bureau meets weekly, the supreme council typically meets on the last Friday of every month.
