COVID-19 | The Education Ministry will be closing all schools and education institutions in red zones in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

This will affect 177 institutions in the district.

Negeri Sembilan saw a spike of Covid-19 infections today, with 96 new cases reported, the second-highest in the country.

According to the state's Health Department, Seremban currently has 179 active cases, with two subdistricts - Ampangan and Labu - as red zones.

Parents whose children are in boarding schools are required to take them home.

However, the ministry said students can choose to remain in hostels throughout the closure period under the care of wardens, with their food needs provided for by the schools.

Private school students undergoing international exams need to get letters from their schools to sit for the exams.
