Prosecutors will call ten witnesses against Pontian MP and Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan, in his trial for failing to declare income and lying to the MACC.
According to Bernama, deputy public prosecutor Mohd Mukhzany Fariz Mohd Mokhtar said all witnesses statements have been filed last month.
The trial was supposed to be heard on Oct 16, 23 and today. However, it has been vacated due to the conditional movement control order (MCO).
Case management before Sessions Court judge Azman Ahmad to set new trial dates has been postponed until Nov 27.
Ahmad was accused of failing to declare RM2 million in his tax filing for 2013 over the income he received from then prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Under Section 4(1)(a) of the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds Act 2001, he can be fined up to RM5 million, jailed up to five years or both.
Ahmad was also charged with the offence of making false statements to the MACC on July 4, 2019.
This offence under Section 32(8)(c) of the same law can result in a fine of not more than RM3 million, a jail term of not more than five years or both.
