There are two main causes to really push for - judicial independence, including calling for establishment of the independent judicial commission, and the IPCMC, says a reader.

On Salleh: Reveal truth about judicial crisis

Ahmad Kamal: It is good to get the country interested in such a worthy cause as the restoration of judicial independence. Abdullah Badawi ought to be grateful to the Malaysian Bar for raising the matter in the midst of his failing popularity as the prime minister. Without a doubt judicial independence will win hands down over who is selling sand to Singapore because that is such a dead issue, although it did worry Lee Hsien Loong as showing up Singapore's shenanigans as well.

As for Nazri ... who actually listens to the guy? He rants against the Tun M anyway. He ought also to pay tribute to the Bar for doing him this favour. Nazri is doing the 'good cop', 'bad cop' thing pretty well here.

There are two main causes to really push for - judicial independence, including calling for establishment of the independent judicial commission, and the IPCMC. Once these are in place we can reset the wheels for a better democracy, with oversight over executive and legislative excesses. Syabas Malaysian Bar! Let justice be done although the heavens may fall.
