More than 100 Hong Kong celebrities, including action star Jackie Chan, are joining forces to denounce a magazine's publication of secretly shot semi-nude pictures of a young local pop star.

The photos, shot with a hidden camera, show 'Twins' pop star Gillian Chung ( left ) adjusting her bra while changing costumes backstage during a concert in Malaysia's Genting Highlands in a front-cover story by Easy Finder magazine released last Monday.

'Infernal Affairs' actor Eric Tsang said celebrities from Taiwan and China, local lawmakers, as well as representatives from women's groups had also been invited to appear on a live TV broadcast to condemn Easy Finder , the Oriental Daily News reported.

Tsang, chairman of Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild, told the newspaper that he hoped the action would force the government to punish the tabloid magazine.

Chung will also take part in the broadcast to be aired on Monday afternoon.

Public outcry

The singer filed a complaint on Saturday with the police who would approach Interpol and work with the Malaysian authorities to track down those who took the shots, police chief Dick Lee was quoted by the South China Morning Post as saying.

The photos have sparked public outcry from local women's groups, politicians and journalists, saying they invaded privacy and were disrespectful to women. Regulators received more than 1,700 complaints over the snaps.

Easy Finder is part of Next Media, which also publishes tabloid-style broadsheet Apple Daily and Next magazine.
