Peter: I am proud to be a Malaysian. But on the other hand, I am ashamed of our leaders. They have no principles of their own. They bend easily with the wind. Besides that, many of them including our very own prime minister, whom I admired initially, do not back his words with actions.

He campaigned on the platform of wiping out corruption and increasing transparency. But his latest actions speak otherwise.

Ever since Pak Lah came to power, prices of goods keep on spiraling. We were asked to change our lifestyles. That we have to. Now upon reading that a hefty sum of RM20 million is being spent on upgrading the security system in his official residence, I am really mad.

As pointed out, Sri Perdana is just recently built. Why has the system got to be upgraded so soon? Besides, what is the point of spending almost RM4 million on an anti-terrorist ramp? As far as I see, all our leaders are safe from terrorist threat. These millions could instead be channeled to provide more scholarships to needy students or to build more hospitals.

Mustapa and Hisham should work hand in hand with MCA, MIC, Gerakan and other BN partners to combat the plundering of school funds instead of wasting their energy and time attacking One Tee Keat.

The accepted practice is that a school project is worth around 30% of the tender value. The other 70% is shared between the 'collaborators'. (I am too polite to use the term partners-in-crime). Mustapa and Hisham, go after these people instead of Tee Keat.

Do remember that the JKR (Public Works Department) is the authority that approves the 'successful completion' of these school projects.

Tee Keat blew the whistle over a RM30,000 contract that is worth only RM3,000, or about 10% of its face value. Had the contractor's work been worth RM9,000 (or 30%), there wouldn't have been any outrage. We would have resigned ourselves to 'the accepted practice'.

The whole episode would have quietly passed as yet another saga in the long history of 'collaborative' looting of the school funds.

KSN: The 'government principle' that a minister or deputy minister cannot criticise another minister sounds good.

I wish ask Mustapa and Najib who said at the same in a press conference yesterday why was this principle not applied when Dr Chua, the health minister, openly criticised the Works Ministry and works minister for the delay in the construction of hospitals more than once and prominently aired by TV3 for a few days, not that I have any sympathy for the works minister? This happened a few weeks ago.

Why such a fuss now and what is the difference between the education minister and works minister. Please explain to the people, Najib and Mustapa.

Iskandarbak: When unethical, immoral or illegal practices are rampant, it becomes the norm for people who practice them. They will unashamedly admit it and will propagate it as well thinking that it is ethical, moral and legal. This Johari guy is so indoctrinated by it that he does not know the difference anymore. Any advise given to him otherwise would be dismissed by him because he does not see what is wrong in what he did.
