He is known as the "untouchable" underworld boss who ran crime activities in Perak but today, he is in the arms of the law possibly, because he went a little too far.

The 61-year-old, also noted to be the most feared man in Perak, was arrested on Thursday for alleged involvement in the murder of a former employee, popular disc jockey Leong Weng Seong, 34, in 2001.

According to the New Straits Times , the underworld boss who was not named, has a hand in almost everything from dadah trafficking and illegal gaming to trafficking in women from China.

The paper quoted sources as saying that the killing may have had something to do with Leong's plan to severe ties with the criminal and set up his own entertainment outlet.

They said this unsettled the gangster who had sewn up the entertainment scene in the state to the extent he wanted Leong out of the way forever.

Gunned down by two men

His reign of terror came to an end when he was detained at the lake town resort of Bukit Merah in connection with the murder on Thursday,

Perak CID chief A Paramasivam (right) confirmed the arrest, saying that the man is now being questioned at the state police headquarters.

Accoding to the police, Leong was gunned down by two men outside the Shuttle 8 disco in Ipoh on Dec 31, 2001. He died on the way to the Ipoh Hospital.

Following the murder, police nabbed eight suspects, including a constable attached to the state anti-narcotics division. Two men were charged with the murder while the rest, including the policeman, were held under the Emergency Ordinance.
