Umno state chiefs urge MPs, leaders to defend party decisions
All 13 Umno state chiefs have urged all of the party’s MPs and leaders to defend and accept any decisions made in line with its constitution, amid speculations over a replacement for outgoing Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

All 13 Umno state chiefs have urged all of the party’s MPs and leaders to defend and accept any decisions made in line with its constitution, amid speculations over a replacement for outgoing Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin.
The 13 Umno leaders made three main calls for its members following confirmation that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had accepted Muhyiddin’s resignation and his entire Perikatan Nasional administration.
“Urging all Umno MPs and party leaders to abide by and defend any party decisions, at all times, in line with guidelines provided for under Umno constitution,” they said.
“Urging all party leaders and supporters at all levels from branch to division to remain united, loyal and supportive of the leadership at all times.
“Also asking all party members to remain steadfast to principles, rules and decorum as an Umno member,” said the group.
The 13 leaders include Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan as Negeri Sembilan Umno chief.
The 12 other Umno state chiefs are as follow:
- Pahang - Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Bin Wan Ismail
- Johor - Johor Menteri Besar Hasni Mohamad
- Perak - Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Bin Mohamad
- Perlis - Perlis Menteri Besar Azlan Man
- Kelantan - Machang MP Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub
- Terengganu - Kijal assemblyperson Ahmad Said
- Sabah - Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Bung Moktar Radin
- Penang - Bukit Mertajam Umno chief Musa Sheikh Fadzir
- Kedah - Jamil Khir Baharom
- Malacca - Ab Rauf Yusoh
- Federal Territories - Johari Abdul Ghani
- Selangor - Tanjong Karang MP Noh Omar
Umno’s top leadership is split between party president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who leads a faction of 15 MPs against Muhyiddin, and two Umno vice-presidents - Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Mahdzir Khalid - who were part of a larger group that remained with PN until its fall today.
