Busker Meor Yusof Aziddin Meor Hassan has died after a long battle with Covid-19.
Meor's daughter Kamelia informed the public through Facebook that her father passed away at 11.42pm yesterday. He was 54 years old.
Meor tested positive for Covid-19 on Dec 3 and was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital with breathing difficulties on the same night.
He was admitted to the intensive care unit and his condition progressively deteriorated.
Meor initially provided regular updates on his health on Facebook but it was later taken over by his daughter.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Meor was often spotted performing at KL Sentral and other public places.
During the pandemic, Meor moved his performances online.
Since the pandemic arrived in Malaysia in January last year, a total of 31,290 people have died from the disease as of yesterday.
