JOHOR POLLS | Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin criticised Bersatu for what he claimed is the party's inability to make any policy offers for the upcoming Johor polls and resorting to parroting warnings about the "court cluster".

This was after Muhyiddin said the only way to stop corrupt Umno leaders from returning to power is to ensure BN's defeat in the Johor polls next month.
"He (Muhyiddin) continues to be shackled by the phrase 'court cluster' which he created when the whole country is moving forward to seek stability, economic recovery and a future," said Khaled in a statement.
"I pity the Bersatu president. He has run out of ideas. He cannot sleep as he lives in the shadow of the 'court cluster'.
"It seems Bersatu's involvement in the Johor polls is only to fight the 'court cluster'. There is no concrete plan or blueprint for the future or new ambitions," he said.
Khaled questioned what “court cluster” Muhyiddin was planning to fight during the Johor polls.
"The strange thing is, none of the people whom he referred to as the court cluster are contesting in the Johor polls or have anything to do with the Johor administration.
"Do not drag the people just because you dislike certain leaders," he said.
Khaled claimed Muhyiddin was increasingly desperate, having been ousted as the prime minister, facing setbacks in the Malacca polls and sitting out of the Sarawak election.
He described it as "karma" for Muhyiddin's previous attempt to destroy Umno.
Muhyiddin, who is also the Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson, has framed the abrupt Johor polls as being perpetrated by the court cluster to build momentum towards the 15th general election.
This was after Umno's strong victory in the Malacca polls, where the likes of Najib Abdul Razak and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who are standing trial for graft, have actively campaigned.
The goal, Muhyiddin claimed, was for Umno to eventually score a resounding victory in the 15th general election so that the graft cases against their leaders can be dropped.
PN and BN were both part of the Johor government which was abruptly dissolved after incumbent Johor menteri besar Hasni Mohammad, who is from Umno, sought to dissolve the state assembly.
PN and BN are now expected to face each other in the Johor polls, on top of the opposition parties that are also planning to join the fray.
Johoreans will go to the polls on March 12. Nomination day is set for Feb 26.
