Oppositions poll boycott right step
In almost every election there is unfair campaigning in government-controlled newspapers and TV, both of which smear the opposition.
On Boycott aims to press for poll reforms
Yee: I agree with the opposition boycott since elections in Malaysia is a farce and a show to the world that we are democratic when in essence we have had the same government in power for 50 years and this is not because there is no opposition. After 50 years, every branch of government is under the strong influence of the executive.
In almost every election there is unfair campaigning in government controlled newspapers and TV, both of which smear the opposition. There is no media independence so that the people can be informed and thus make an informed choice on voting day.
On Effendi's mission: Bring Umno to Sarawak?
Azlan: If there is anyone who has a slim chance in becoming the next CM of Sarawak, it would have to be Effendi, or at the very least, Abang Johari Abang Openg.
As for Umno's chances in being the party to represent the "bumis" in Sarawak ... I would dare say it would be a cold day in hell for the party to ever have a foothold in the state since the Malays and Melanaus that make up the Muslim community in Sarawak have a great sense of distrust toward the "orang semenanjung" and fear what had happened in Sabah would happen to them too - that the local business contracts would end up in the hands of the "orang semanjung"
We like our business the way it is ... internal and family-oriented .
On PM vows to cut bureaucratic red tape
Kaisim:
It is nice to hear that our PM wants to make it easy for foreign investors to invest in the country. How he could do it is anybody`s guess. Right now, I cannot see this is happening in the government departments. In any government office, one can see a few chairs where the officers are missing. It is common to hear remarks that so-and-so is on leave, out on field work or meeting.I have visited the Inland Revenue Department three times to claim my excess tax payments but each time I am asked to produce irrelevant copies of my tax returns which have been forwarded when I declared my tax for the year. Why are they asking for something they already have in the file? Why can`t they just make matter easy for me by paying back my money which has been taken away from my dividend vouchers ?
Our PM, Abdullah can cry his heart out but the men down the line are not interested. We have no choice but face the bureaucratic red tape time and again. The same goes to the investors which we have lost because of this 'drag and hamper' policy.
On Dr M has 'major psychological problem'
Ah Chong: Sungai Buloh was Anwar Ibrahim residence for six years for a crime he did not commit as the court threw the case out. It is clear now that Anwar is a man of substance, principle and undeterred by injustice and evil. There is a God and He is Almighty. He watches and He judges. The evil may plot but they shall fall into the hole themselves.
