Over 100 PKR divisions lodge reports against Najib over Sulu issue

Over 100 PKR divisions have lodged police reports against Najib Abdul Razak this morning to urge the authority to investigate the former premier over his decision to terminate annual payment to the heirs of the Sulu sultanate.

This came after the decision resulted in the heirs dragging Malaysia to an arbitration process, which saw a France court ordering the country to pay US$14.92 billion (RM62.59 billion) compensation.

PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli told Malaysiakini that at least 140 PKR divisions nationwide have agreed to lodge police reports at their respective locations as of last night.

"I have lodged my report at 11am this morning, together with Nik Nazmi (Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad) at Setiawangsa police station.

"So far, 140 divisions have agreed as of last night to participate in lodging reports," Rafizi said when contacted this afternoon.

Alleged negligence

It was learnt that PKR Lembah Pantai MP Fahmi Fadzil has also lodged his report at the Pantai police station.

According to a template posted on Rafizi's Facebook last night, the reports were lodged to urge police to investigate alleged negligence on Najib's part when he was in office by stopping the annual payment of RM5,300 to the Sulu Sultanate.

This had allegedly put the country at risk of having to pay multi-billion ringgit as compensation to the heirs of the Sulu sultanate.

Rafizi had during the recent PKR national congress called all party members nationwide to counter Najib and Umno's narrative by lodging police reports every time the former premier "lies" to the public.
