Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob has ordered the Health Ministry to give Najib Abdul Razak the best health treatment required.

Najib’s health deteriorated today, forcing him to be sent for treatment amid the 1MDB trial.

“I pray for his health,” Ismail Sabri tweeted.

Najib - who is serving a 12-year jail sentence - was admitted to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) on Monday, Sept 4 for a stomach-related illness.

His daughter Nooryana Najwa claimed that a scope on Saturday found stomach ulcers.

A biopsy performed then also led to some bleeding and an ulcer had to be clipped to stop the bleeding, she said.

Nooryana alleged that Najib had asked to be admitted but the hospital discharged him instead.

She also alleged that the hospital gave him a different medication than what he is used to.

This she claimed, caused Najib’s blood pressure to reach dangerous levels this morning - necessitating another trip to the doctor.

Deputy public prosecutor Gopal Sri Ram said the former prime minister’s condition was “quite bad”.

However, Health Ministry director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has disputed the claims.

He said the medicine administered to Najib was of the “same type” and that experts treating him found him healthy enough to be discharged.
